Two Years Ago, Her Son Was Killed

Do you know what, if any, legal protection there is for unborn children in your state? Often, it takes a tragedy to bring injustice to light.

Imagine leaving your last pre-natal appointment, ready to have your little guy at any moment, only to be struck by a repeat drunk driver and have the impact kill your 8 pound, 2 ounce baby. Imagine the heartbreak of having to take apart your baby’s crib, knowing that your child never got to use it.

Now imagine being told that because he didn’t take a breath, your son was NOT a ‘person’ and therefore got no legal protection at all.

Imagine the state charging the drunk driver with damaging your vehicle, but not with killing your child.

Heather Surovik lost her son, Brady, on July 5th, 2012. Since then, she has been fighting to get justice for him.  That is what Amendment 67 is about; legal protection for unborn children in Colorado. It’s common sense. If you live and vote in Colorado, please visit for more information.
