April 12th – 18th is National Volunteers Week, and we are blessed and grateful for the countless volunteers who show up at Good Counsel each day!
“National Volunteer Week, a program established by Points of Light in 1974, is about inspiring, recognizing, and encouraging people to seek out imaginative ways to engage in their communities. It’s about demonstrating to the nation that by working together, we have the fortitude to meet our challenges and accomplish our goals.”
We are always ready to welcome great volunteers! Donors and volunteers can join Good Counsel and help our families get a new start in life in a variety of ways, from the smallest details to the most complex. From fundraising and friend-raising to teaching, mentoring and sharing time and talents, plenty of volunteer opportunities exist in both the Good Counsel offices and residences. We are also in need of prayer volunteers. Click here to complete a Volunteer Application!
Enjoy these recent pictures from a visit from The Pajama Group to our Harrison, New York home. Also known as DayStar, our home in Harrison is a specialized residence for moms who have a mental illness and who may also be dually diagnosed with an addiction. The Pajama Group is part of the Pajama Program, a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas and new books to children in need. These generous volunteers visit once a week and read to the children and babies in our home!

Happy Volunteers Week!
