Reflection for Today

For a number of years Good Counsel has operated an outreach called Lumina, which means light. It is an outreach for those suffering from a past abortion experience in order to promote and assist with emotional and psychological healing.

todays gospel, jesus, woman, adultry, lent, abortion, prolife, healing“This Gospel (the woman caught in adultery) is one of my favorites,” says Dana, a Good Counsel former resident, who has benefited from the Lumina program and prayer services that have been offered. “I used to emotionally beat myself up over my past abortion, and I did not have a clue how I could ever be reconciled with the trauma I felt inside.”

Jesus’ words, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin anymore,” do bring comfort to many as they point out that any sin, no matter how great, can be forgiven.

Today let’s take some time and pray for those who are emotionally hurting from a past abortion experience, and if you ever get the chance, please consider referring Lumina to whomever may be looking for healing.
