We love to see our moms succeed! While living at a Good Counsel home, house managers, case managers, staff, and volunteers all play a part in supporting and encouraging our moms to set goals and achieve them. Moms participate in an array of Life Skills Classes with the goal of being ready for a new life outside of Good Counsel with a stable job and independence for themselves and their children.
Our moms take various roads in working toward reaching their education goals, whether completing a GED, earning a specialized certificate, or attending college classes. Some of our moms have completed their college degree while with us!
With only a few weeks of summer to go, let’s take a look back at these awesome Good Counsel moms who recently reached their goals and who are an inspiration for the upcoming school year, whether you’re a student yourself, a teacher, or perhaps a mentor to someone who is finding their way. Amelia, Abigail, and Angela are all “A” students for life!
