Good Counsel for Mother’s Day

Posted by | May 13, 2017 | No Comments

Let’s not forget any mother today, in our thoughts and prayers, even the one who is very much motherly, but has never even conceived a child. In her heart, her love and caring is all as real as Our Mother Mary, who bore just one Son, but is now the New Mother of All The Living.

Abortion & The Sibling Puzzle

Posted by | May 4, 2017 | No Comments

The devastation to unborn children from abortion is obvious.  However, with over 58 million abortions in our country, it is hard to imagine that they would be the only children impacted.

Time after time, I have kids come up to me to tell me about their aborted siblings and their mother’s pain. What most of them fail to go into is the pain that abortion has caused in their own lives.

It is remarkable how many kids, when they learn of an abortion in their family, react with the statement, “so now things make sense.” It is as if a missing piece of their lives that they were so aware of, suddenly has put the puzzle of life together for them.

It doesn’t seem to matter if the abortion was before or after their birth, the impact remains in the fabric of the family, affecting every member to some degree. Read More

The Lord is Risen!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Who ever saw a dead man come back to life?

Those who were with Jesus when he raised Lazarus did. Those who saw Jesus stop the funeral cortege of the widowed mother’s son did. Those who saw the little girl arise did.  But have you?  I have not.

Yet, I do believe.

I believe on faith, but my faith is also underscored by the sight of the troubled, depressed, rejected pregnant mom who comes into Good Counsel one day, gives birth another day, and finds a new life in Christ a third day. Read More

Father Benedict’s Good Friday Video Message

Posted by | Apr 14, 2017 | No Comments

Dear Friend,

Several years ago Good Counsel’s Joe Quattrocchi had the opportunity to chat with Father Benedict Groeschel, CFR, about a number of things including one of his favorite days of the year, Good Friday.

Father Benedict spent many years preaching at Good Friday Services but, as his health began to fade he was no longer able to do so.

Here in the last Good Friday reflection Father Benedict would make before his death in 2014, Good Counsel’s co-founder speaks about the importance of this day and how appreciative he is of all who support the work of Good Counsel.  I hope you will enjoy this video. Read More
