I would like to say what Good Counsel has done for me. First, I would like to say that Good Counsel has acted as a second family to me. Good Counsel has not presented its surroundings as a shelter; more like a home to me. I learned the important things in life that are helping me become a good mom. Before I came to Good Counsel I did not even know how to cook, and now I am experienced in preparing nutritious meals. I am happy that I was able to stay at Good Counsel because it was a safe place for my baby and me. We have begun our new life together.

Good Counsel has given me great support for my son and me. Presently, we are residing at the Daystar home. I have three supportive housing applications in circulation and I am looking forward to living independently in the near future. I did not realize what help meant until I got to the Daystar home. I am also thankful for all the friends I have made. I thank God for His provision and I love Jesus for all that He has done for my dear son and I.

I thank God for Good Counsel's Daystar home because they helped me overcome a lot, such as being overwhelmed by the death of my mother. It has been about 3 years and I am still in mourning from her passing. We were very close, like sisters.

I am very thankful for the sisterly advice that I am able to receive on a daily basis from the staff here. Whenever I am feeling down, I can always be reassured that the office is always open for me. We have serious discussions, they give me good advice, and we have a few good laughs. I thank God for Good Counsel and this home because otherwise my beautiful bundle of joy would not be here. I am grateful for the home and everything that is offered to us. I appreciate the interaction with all of the different women and children. I really found peace with God and myself. I pray every morning for waking me up and I pray every night for allowing me to get through my day. I also pray for God to bless and watch over every single person I come in contact with.

I have been trying to gain back my full independence and expect to be in my own apartment in the next month. Good Counsel is a stepping-stone and I'm glad that I've able to stick to my guns. I have had ups and downs because I'm human and no one is perfect. I've experienced consequences from some of my actions, but I've learned from those experiences.

I would like to end this by saying, thank God for a place like Good Counsel's Daystar, which supports mothers and their decision to keep their babies. Thank God for the staff here.

Jesus said, "Whoever receives a little child in My name, receives Me." I would like to thank all of you at Good Counsel for receiving Jesus, and for helping so many others receive Him as well. Your homes teach us the meaning of life--that God has tenderly loved each one and has created each of us to be loved.
