The landslide and flooding washed their home and town away. The airport got hit so my flight was canceled so depending how extensive the damage I’ll be stuck here. They will be looking for flights tonight to try and get me out. The other airports are overwhelmed with aid coming in and others trying to flee the country. The destruction here is unimaginable. It looks like a war zone. Every tree has been pulled from the ground - there’s no leaves for shade, all the roofs ripped off, trees in the road, and power lines down. There’s no food in the stores, no gas, no power, atm lines are so long. You see people here covered in mud from the floods. Whole towns without food. Some people have lost everything. They are just sitting near their houses which is a pile of rubble. You can’t help but to cry. Everyone has been affected. This season is Jamaica’s biggest for tourism and now they won’t have that revenue."
