Good Counsel, a Catholic-founded ministry, is more than a home for pregnant moms, their babies, and children—it’s a new beginning. Our mission is to uphold the dignity of every human life by providing a loving, supportive home and the skills every mother needs to never be homeless again.

We are seeking a compassionate Intake Coordinator to join our mission. This person will be the first voice of hope for women who call our 24-hour hotline in moments of crisis. Whether it is a mother facing homelessness, a survivor of domestic violence, or a woman struggling with addiction or mental health, the Intake Staff will offer compassionate listening, practical support, and a clear path to safety through Good Counsel.

The role also includes outreach to community organizations, speaking engagements, and building referral partnerships. Intake Staff must be flexible, able to travel between our homes (Staten Island, NY; Spring Valley, NY; Riverside, NJ; and Bronx, NY), and comfortable meeting women right where they are—with love, patience, and the truth that their lives and their babies’ lives matter.

Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • Deep belief in and commitment to the pro-life mission of Good Counsel.
  • A calm, compassionate, and steady presence in times of crisis.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to travel with a company vehicle between our homes.
  • Comfort with outreach, networking, and occasional public speaking.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Experience in crisis work, social services, or intake preferred but not required—we value heart, commitment, and willingness to learn.
  • Degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:

  • Full-time or part-time roles available
  • Full-time staff receive health, dental, and vision benefits

If you have a heart for mothers in crisis and want to make a difference in the lives of women and children, we invite you to prayerfully consider joining our mission.
