A 41^st  Anniversary of Service – Thanks to You!

In the beginning, our Good Counsel family began on a day like today, clear and warm. That Sunday afternoon, March 10, 1985, a mom and baby walked into a former convent in Hoboken.

You our friends and benefactors are now part of this humble genesis which has served more than 8,500 women and children with more than 812,332 days of caring and nights of shelter. You are continuing this loving care of God’s mercy.

As God’s People we have heard for millennia, “Father of the orphans, defender of the widows . . . God gives a the lonely a home to dwell in.” (Psalm 68) At Good Counsel you continue fulfilling this call.

Even beyond our homes more than 51,000 have reached us over the helpline and through emails. Also, literally hundreds of thousands of people have heard our messages of help for every pregnant mom in need and healing and hope for those who’ve experienced an abortion.

We count 1,390 babies being born to moms living with us since 1985. We know many, many more babies have been born because Good Counsel has touched their lives.

Many other men and women have found the forgiveness and love of God through Lumina’s hope after an abortion.

“I desire mercy, not sacrifice,” Jesus told us (Matthew 9:13).

Good Counsel is a mission of mercy and it began during this Season of Lent a time of prayer, fasting and mercy.

Let prayer, mercy and fasting be one single plea to God on our behalf.
