Are you suffering from the aftermath of an abortion? You are not crazy. You are not different. You are not alone. Society often does not acknowledge the very real feelings and/or destructive behavior that happens as a result of abortion.

You are grieving a real loss that no one allows you to acknowledge. In fact, there are many who have gone before you who now face life with joy because they have allowed themselves to grieve and work through their feelings.

“My own abortion haunts me yet, but in those moments of sadness, I have most often found a way to let myself be carried to deep reflection and remember the constant reminders of mercy that I heard during my healing journey. Thus, despite time limitations and life stresses, my healing continues, and most times now, I choose mercy when darkness calls.” – Mary Ellen

Who and where are those who have had an abortion?

They are everywhere. They are in our schools, churches, workplaces, and families. They are your friends, colleagues, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, grandmothers, and maybe… you.

You have a right to receive help and understand your conflicting emotions.

You have a right to understand what is happening to you.

You have a right to grieve.

You have a right to feel good again.

No matter how you feel now, it is possible.

Allow the new year to be your year of healing. Lumina offers many opportunities to take the first step toward healing or to accompany you if you’ve already begun your journey.

Your first opportunity is February 29, 2010 with the Entering Canaan Day of Prayer & Healing for Women in Brooklyn, NY with spiritual director, Msgr. Andrew Vaccari. For confidential reservations, call Lumina at 877-586-4621 or email lumina@postabortionhelp.org.
