Welcoming Zi’mere: A New Life, A New Year at Good Counsel

On Sunday evening, January 11, around 9:45 p.m., the Spring Valley Home welcomed its very first baby of the new year—and Good Counsel joyfully celebrates our second baby born across all of our homes in 2026.

Meet Zi’mere, a precious baby boy born weighing 6 pounds, 7 ounces. Though Zi’mere is currently receiving care in the NICU, we are deeply grateful to share that both mom and baby are doing well. Every birth carries its own story, and Zi’mere’s arrival reminds us that even when the road begins with uncertainty, hope is already present.

At Good Counsel, every new life is surrounded not only by medical care and professional support, but by a community that believes no mother should walk this journey alone. From the moment Zi’mere entered the world, his mother was not isolated—she was held in prayer, encouragement, and love by staff, supporters, and the wider Good Counsel family.
