Mother’s Day at Good Counsel: Honoring the Women Who Give Everything
At Good Counsel, we celebrate Mother’s Day not just as a holiday, but as a meaningful opportunity to honor the courage, sacrifice, and strength of the women we serve—mothers who have experienced homelessness, abuse, and poverty, and who are now working daily to build better lives for their children.
This year, all four of our Good Counsel homes came together in love and celebration. Each home hosted special events filled with brunches, dinners, spa days, gift bags, flowers, candy, and, most importantly, child care—so our moms could truly relax and feel pampered. In one home, gifts were presented in front of their babies as a way of saying, “We’ll watch the little ones today. You take care of yourself.”
For our dedicated house staff, this celebration is deeply personal. They see firsthand the struggles each mother has overcome just to walk through our doors. They witness the daily effort these women put into healing, growing, and working toward independence and stability. That’s why it matters so much to show these moms love—not only on Mother’s Day, but every day.
At Good Counsel, motherhood is honored as a sacred vocation. We remind every woman that she is not forgotten, that she is worthy of rest and joy, and that she is deeply loved.
Because when we lift up a mother, we help change the world—one life, one family, one act of love at a time.
