At Good Counsel, every birth is a moment of hope—a reminder that when mothers are supported, new life can begin surrounded by safety, dignity, and love.

Recently, our Bronx Home was blessed with the joyful arrival of Baby Alan, born weighing a healthy 9 pounds. His mother, Galina, welcomed him after a pregnancy marked by extraordinary patience, strength, and optimism.

Throughout her pregnancy, Galina demonstrated a remarkable spirit. Even as her due date passed and the waiting stretched longer than expected, she remained calm, hopeful, and trusting. Her positive outlook was truly inspiring to everyone around her. Staff and fellow residents witnessed firsthand the quiet resilience that so many mothers discover when they know they are not facing life’s challenges alone.

When the day finally arrived, the wait gave way to celebration as Baby Alan entered the world safely, bringing immense joy to the Good Counsel family. Both mother and baby are doing well, and we are grateful to walk alongside them as they begin this beautiful new chapter together.

Stories like Galina and Alan’s remind us why Good Counsel exists. For more than four decades, our homes have been places where mothers can find stability, encouragement, and the practical support they need to prepare for motherhood with confidence.

When a mother knows she is safe, supported, and surrounded by people who care, she can focus on what matters most: welcoming and caring for her child.

You can be part of these stories of hope.

By becoming a monthly supporter of Good Counsel, you help ensure that mothers like Galina have a safe place to turn during pregnancy and beyond. Your support provides housing, guidance, and essential care for both mothers and their babies.

Please keep Galina and Baby Alan in your prayers as they begin their journey together—and consider joining the Good Counsel family in supporting many more joyful beginnings.
