At Good Counsel, every cry, coo, and tiny heartbeat is a reminder that hope is alive. As we step through 2025, we’re humbled and overjoyed to share that 20 new babies have been born in our maternity homes this year so far — twenty beautiful reminders that life and love always find a way.

From Spring Valley to the Bronx, from Staten Island to Riverside, our homes have been filled with lullabies, late-night feedings, and countless prayers of gratitude. Each birth represents far more than a new arrival — it’s the renewal of courage, the restoration of faith, and the tangible sign of what happens when a woman in crisis is met not with judgment, but with compassion and care.

In the first quarter of 2025, we welcomed little ones like Nyoni Malika of Spring Valley and Cleona of Riverside — our earliest New Year blessings. Their mothers came to Good Counsel seeking stability and found a safe haven filled with love and guidance. As winter turned to spring, more miracles followed. In the second quarter, our Riverside home overflowed with life as Hope, Rose’Angelise, Ry’lah, and Everly May were born — their names echoing the joy and redemption that define our mission.

By summer, the third quarter brought a wave of celebrations across the Bronx and Riverside. Mothers like Giana and Mohamed welcomed their sons and daughters into a world made brighter by the support of our Good Counsel community. These mothers have faced unimaginable challenges — homelessness, abandonment, fear of the unknown — yet through your generosity, they now hold their babies knowing they are not alone.

And as autumn settles in, the fourth quarter begins with baby Ethan from the Bronx — the latest testimony to what love, faith, and community can accomplish together.

Twenty new lives. Twenty mothers who chose hope over despair. Twenty futures that would not have been possible without the kindness of those who believe in this mission.
