At Good Counsel Homes, our mission remains simple yet profound: to provide a safe, loving home for homeless pregnant women and their babies. As we move through 2025, the need for our services continues to grow—and thanks to your support, we are making a tangible difference.

So far this year, we have welcomed 20 beautiful babies into our homes. Each life is a testament to hope, compassion, and the vital support that Good Counsel provides. Beyond a safe place to stay, our moms receive a comprehensive network of care, including mental health services, parenting guidance, job training, and more. With rising costs for food, staffing, and essential repairs on our century-old buildings, every donation helps ensure these services continue uninterrupted.

One of the ways we are securing this support is through our Gather with Purpose events—intimate, meaningful gatherings designed to unite passionate supporters of life. These events not only raise critical funds but also foster a community of people committed to making a lasting impact.

This year, we have already hosted several successful Gather with Purpose events, with JoAnn Venezia and Chris Bellleading the most recent one. The accompanying photos from the event showcase the warmth, generosity, and sense of shared purpose that define these gatherings. Their support and dedication have brought real financial help to our homes, helping us serve more mothers and babies in need.

One of the moms who spoke at a recent event, Laura, shared her journey and the impact Good Counsel had on her life:

“Before coming to Good Counsel, life for me was uncertain and overwhelming. I was working two jobs, living in a motel, and had no support system. I was led here by my doctor and a social worker, and although the transition was scary at first, my faith grew stronger than my fear.

“In June, complications during my pregnancy led to an emergency delivery of my daughter, Everly. Thanks to the support of Good Counsel staff, we both recovered well. Over six months here, I’ve learned patience, self-worth, goal-setting, and self-advocacy. The staff believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself.

“Looking ahead, I aim to find stable housing and give back to others, just as I have been helped. Being here has made me believe I can achieve my goals. I am truly grateful for everyone who supports moms like me through Good Counsel.”

Stories like Laura’s remind us why our work matters. Each Gather with Purpose event and every donation brings hope, stability, and love to mothers and babies in need.
