Pro-life leaders from across the country gathered at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., for the Leading with Love Conference, hosted by the Human Life Foundation and CUA’s Center for Law and the Human Person. The event focused on how faith-based ministries are building a culture of life and promoting human dignity through compassion, community, and prayer.
Jennie Bradley Lichter, president of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, shared how her initiative, The Guadalupe Project, fosters a “revolution of love” by ensuring that every woman on campus knows about available pregnancy and parenting resources. She emphasized that six out of ten women who choose abortion would have preferred to choose life if they had felt supported emotionally and financially.
Speakers from several leading pro-life ministries—including Kat Talalas of Walking with Moms in Need, Amy Ford of Embrace Grace, Sister Maria Frassati of the Sisters of Life, and Chris Bell, co-founder and president of Good Counsel Homes—shared what gives them hope for the future of the pro-life movement.
Talalas spoke about how Walking with Moms in Need has spread organically through dioceses and parishes across the country, describing it as “the work of the Holy Spirit” moving hearts to action. Ford expressed optimism in seeing a renewed openness to faith, especially among younger generations, and encouraged participants to use their unique God-given gifts to serve mothers and families.
Representing more than 40 years of service to homeless, pregnant mothers, Chris Bell highlighted how Good Counselcontinues to embody the conference’s theme of leading with love through housing, counseling, child care, and post-abortion healing. Bell reminded attendees that prayer is the foundation of every effort to defend life. He urged the faithful to pray—especially outside abortion centers—saying,
“You don’t have to say anything. You don’t even have to open your eyes. But your presence will mean the world. The babies who will die there that day will know that you loved them.”
Sister Maria Frassati of the Sisters of Life closed with a reflection on God’s providence, reminding attendees that nothing offered to Him in love is ever wasted.
Together, these voices painted a picture of a vibrant, Spirit-led pro-life movement grounded in faith, hope, and the conviction that every life is sacred.
