Men Hurt Too: A Day of Healing and Hope After Abortion

For over 20 years, Lumina, a post-abortion ministry of Good Counsel, has been walking with men through the often-silent sorrow that follows abortion. Now, more than ever, in this Year of Hope, we’re being called to spread the word: healing is possible.

Abortion wounds all who are involved—and while society often forgets the men, Lumina has not. Through its “Entering Canaan” men’s healing retreats, Lumina has helped hundreds of men encounter the mercy of God, find peace, and begin the journey of restoration. Still, many men remain in the shadows, suffering in silence, believing they are alone or unworthy of healing.

But hope can be sparked with a single word.

A man once told us, "I have been waiting over twenty years to see something offered for men who have been involved in abortion." His words are a powerful reminder: there are countless others like him, waiting—just waiting—to hear that healing is not only possible, but available.

On Saturday, June 21st, Lumina will host a confidential day retreat for men in Westchester, NY who have lost a child to abortion. This sacred space is designed to offer support, mercy, and the promise of God’s healing love.
